First introduced in 1965, the original Stan Smith shoe was named after the legendary American tennis player, and has since become one of the most well-known and beloved designs in sneaker history. This Stan Smith golf shoe collaboration will incorporate branding from both adidas and Vice — both German companies — giving an unexpected neon makeover to the iconic model that traditionally comes in a simple white colorway.
ADIDAS STAN SMITH X VICE LIMITED-EDITION GOLF SHOES
“The great thing about the Stan Smith Golf silhouette is that it’s the perfect canvas to play with color,” adidas global footwear director, Masun Denison said. “We’re excited for everyone to see these bold colorways on such a versatile shoe.”
Vice’s company slogan, “Embrace your vice,” will be embossed on the heel, and the official Stan Smith endorsement patch will be on the tongue of the shoe, same as Hey Dude Sneakers the original design had it placed. As an extra fun detail to honor the collab, perforated holes will spell out “Vice” on one side of each shoe, while the recognizable adidas 3-stripes identifier will be displayed on the other.
The shoe will largely feature the same performance design elements as the first adidas Stan Smith golf shoe, released April 2021. In addition to a rubber spikeless outsole, the adidas x Vice collaboration will be reinforced at the medial and lateral sides of the sneaker, providing extra support to the wearer.
Available at 11:00 a.m. EST on Friday, March 25, the Stan Smith and Vice collaboration will only be available in limited quantities on adidas.com, Vicegolf.com, the adidas app, and a few select retailers.
